cancer is stupid!

Cancer is stupid!

That’s right. Let’s do something about it.

You have cancer? Or, you had cancer?

You love cars, you’re blown away when you see a Porsche or hear: VVvvvvvvvRRRRRrrrrrOOooooommmm?!!!

Would you like to go for a drive?

What, you’re not allowed to drive alone?

No problem, just bring your parents, your siblings, your best friend or girlfriend with you!

When can you come? When is that?

Just click under EVENTS and choose THE GOOD RIDE, choose a city & a date, and fill out the attached questionnaire *
(* if you are under 16 years old, please ask your parents to read the questionnaire again and send it to us)

What are the conditions?

You are a “child” and at least 6 years old or 150 cm tall, you have had or have cancer, your medical certificate and your health allow you to join us, then sign up!

Your parents accompany you, they give us a disclaimer, they automatically declare with your enrollment that our club is not liable.

By the way, we may use the photos taken during the rally and any films. With your declaration of participation, you allow us and your parents to use these photos and that there are no copyrights on the photos.

What does it cost?

Nothing at all! You – your parents – your siblings are invited!

Where does the money come from?

You, we ride all year round and collect one euro per mile to invite you.

Also the Porsche drivers who take part in THE GOOD RIDE pay a participation fee, this covers their food, as well as the special permits we need, any rental fees from nice starting locations and pit stops, AND the food & drinks from you and your guests (or parents & siblings).

We also have some “dear companies”, we call them “our godparents & sponsors”, who give us more money when we run out of pocket money.

How long does it last? What does the program look like?

We usually meet at 9 am, have a croissant together, and wait until the drivers arrive (around 9:30 am). Then we embroider the cars (have a look here below for more photos and soon a short clip), I do a briefing with you, i.e. explain everything in detail. Then you take a seat in a Porsche, which you choose yourself, and your parents follow in their cars and drive behind our convoy. And from 10 a.m., we set off at one-minute intervals. About 45 minutes later, we arrive at the first pit stop, where we have a little refreshment. And if you feel comfortable, you choose another vehicle, take a seat and we drive on (about 45 minutes again). After noon we arrive at lunch. Drivers and parents park their cars, get a refreshing drink, a very good hot meal, a great dessert … and there are lots of nice presents for you, we call it a ” goodie bag “, they are sponsored by our sponsors & partners, you can take them home! Around 14h-14h30 is the end. Your parents and you drive home – you’ll probably be really tired by then too … and we Porsche drivers will have a little “toast” and then drive home at around 4 pm too.

I can’t eat everything!

That’s no problem at all, we know exactly what people with cancer are not allowed to eat and we adapt accordingly.

For example, what do you think of a delicious hamburger with ketchup and chips? Or a pizza?

Followed by fresh strawberries or a nice cake … you can eat that, can’t you?

If you have a very special diet plan to follow, let me know and send it to me as soon as you sign up.

Still have questions?

Just give me a call and we’ll clarify everything over the phone:

Annik – cell phone number 00352 (for Luxembourg) 621 183555 or send me a message and I will call you back.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Questionnaire or questions:

We should know that in order to put you in the front or back of the car.
Please also enter information about your diet here if you are not allowed to eat everything.
Please enter your phone number and area code here.

Vize-Präsidentin Drive for Miles® seit 2014

Vor 10 Jahren trat ich Drive for Miles® als Vizepräsidentin bei, in 2015 organisierte ich den ersten « The Good Ride” in Stuttgart mit Walter Röhrl an Bord, wir flitzten sehr elegant und « gehorsam » über die Solitude.

Alles lief perfekt!

Was ich damit meine?

Vice-President Drive for Miles® since 2014

10 years ago I joined Drive for Miles® as Vice President, in 2015 I organized the first “The Good Ride” in Stuttgart with Walter Röhrl on board, we whizzed very elegantly and “obediently” across the Solitude.

Everything went perfectly! Many of the drivers who were there 10 years ago are still riding with us today and are asking for more. Me too. In the meantime, I’m taking my two boys with me, they have oil in their blood just like me.

Because that’s what it’s all about: sharing the joy of riding between both small and “big boys”. Not only do we lead a top organization, we also drive the participants healthy. What do I mean by that?

The friendship between drivers and like-minded people is very close to my heart. I have been a member of the Porsche family for a long time, a brand that I hold very highly and whose vehicles I value above all brands.

Through Drive for Miles®, my circle of friends was enlarged enormously, big and small children from all over Europe took a seat in my car, we drove to great locations, we talked about Porsches, dream cars and let the wind sweep around our noses. In the meantime, more brands are on board, we move on four and two wheels, sometimes one-day trips, sometimes longer distances, very exciting and changeable. I’m always amazed…

You probably know the feeling that happens every driving season when you wake up your truck from hibernation, insert the ignition key and start. It’s bubbling, he’s driving, actually, ha!

In 1997 our club was born, it was all about driving, driving, driving great cars. The driving fun was quickly shared, people met, often and gladly. Through these meetings we exchanged great trip experiences and good mechanic tips, our driving expertise also improved enormously, we were often at Spa. We became a group with the same affinity: driving, nice humming. Some brought their children with them, once there was also a little boy with an eye patch, who was more passionate than all of us combined.

The boy had a lot of catching up to do, recently underwent surgery for a brain tumor and was in hospital for a long time. The little one came along more and more often. « No, he didn’t have a driver’s license yet, but he could probably hit the gas pedal with his stick! » He knew my Porsche 964 inside out, he had driven Guy’s GT2RS 2 times (mental cinema).

The little one brought with him his big brother (a child in the shadows) and his best friend, a few years older, diagnosed with bone cancer, as if cured, not yet so good on his feet, but “oil instead of blood” in his veins, they had met in the hospital, united by the same passion. No one can measure the stimulation for such young and old children to pursue their favorite hobby. The fact was that we, Amseeligen, who fetch the kids in the Porsche or with the Harley, came and let it hum, we had done the two of them so good, they thought of nothing else: Driving was in, cancer (which cancer?) was out!

That was the crucial moment for me and my friends to decide: let’s drive miles, with the kids on board. And if the journeys take longer (e.g. Luxembourg-Athens = 10 days round trip), then we use our miles to collect donations and later invite them, together with friends and family for a whole day, which became THE GOOD RIDE© Now you know what it’s like, now you can also participate: those who want to donate, click on this link. Those who want to join us, click on the event link. You can do both! :)
